Development of Hydrolyzed Cartilage product for topical use

Hydrolyzed Cartilage (HC) is a long chain natural biopolymer of a repeating disaccharide unit: galactosamine sulfate and glucuronic acid. HC is the most abundant glycosaminoglycan (GAG) in the connective tissues including articular cartilage, tendons, vertebral disks, cornea, heart and blood vessels. Results : The clinical data shown high efficacy to 30 patients within 3 weeks and the results shown no any side effect.

Oral Glucosamine Supplements as a Possible Ocular Hypertensive Agent

Methods : This retrospective study was reviewed by the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine Review Board Chair. Patients had been serially selected by their history of glucosamine supplementation and ocular hypertension (IOP &21 mm Hg) or established diagnosis of open-angle glaucoma, willingness to electively stop using glucosamine, IOP measurements at least 3 times within 2 years, and no concomitant changes in glaucoma medications or eye surgery.

Results : The clinical results shown to increase intraocular pressure ( IOP ) significantly, risk to open-angle glaucoma.
